well no, BUT
If you can answer No to ALL of these questions then your chance of getting preggie is less than 5%
Your baby is over six months old?
Have your periods returned?
Do you go more than 3 hours between nursing, during the day?
Do you go more than 6 hours between nursings at night?
Have you started giving your baby giving other foods?
If even one answer is yes, then the chances of pregnancy go up.

You can get pregnant but you typically don't have periods. It cant be a bit painful at first because your breast are very tender & it can be hard to find sitter's due to your child's attachment. They eat more frequently it seems as well. But on the pro side it the healthiest thing for the baby, taste better than formula's (& I've tried most of them), it helps your body go back to the normal state faster, closer bond. The only thing I would change is that I will probably pump more frequently giving siblings & dad more time to feed & bond.

Oh heck no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first tow are only sixteen months apart... which means I was pregnant when my first was only six months old (had c-section so they took the second one early, for those of you doing the math *wink*) I am glad I had them so close together though....
ack I just read someone said you can't breastfeed while pregnant... not so, I did up until I was four months pregnant and the only reason I stopped was because my lil one thought it was fun to bite....
Seriously im only speaking from my own experiences, im not a doctor, if you want to feel 100% about anything talk to your OB. Good Luck
Have a GREAT day!

As far as a definite on it, there isn't one. You can still become pregnant while breastfeeding, its just that the chance is lowered. When you're breastfeeding, your body still produces the pregnancy hormone, which makes you less likely you conceive, but it's not enough of the hormone to fully gaurantee it.

no. it's less likely because of the hormones you release while nursing. but it is still possible, and highly possible at that. that is part of the reason you shouldn't have sex until your doc okays it at six (or so) weeks, and that your doc will probably want you to select a birth control option. your fist nine months to a year after a baby is born are your most fertile. so be careful! it's even possible to get pregnant with your tubes being tied. my youngest sister in law was a tubal baby.

Not true. Use condoms until you are done breastfeeding and it is safe to go back on the pill.

if you're exclusively breast feeding and the baby does ALL its sucking on the breast and not from a bottle or a passifier, in most cases you will not ovulate until that pattern is broken.
Its not fool proof, some women do ovulate even though.
