Personally, I think it should be legal. Of course I wouldn't think that way if all the people who think it should would be willing to adopt at least one of the unwanted children that women would be forced to have. Why destine children to a life of being unwanted and/or abused?
Yep, some people will say things like "A woman should just use birth control." Simple to say, but the truth of it is, thousands of unwanted children are born (even in a country as developed as the U.S) every day. There are also thousands of people who get news everyday that they've been diagnosed with disease like hepetitis, HIV, and AIDS. People are going to have unprotected sex, regardless of anything anyone else does or says. Not so simple at all. I also have to comment on how the people who say that always say, "If SHE doesn't want a baby SHE should use contraceptives." You'd think SHE was getting pregnant by herself. Unfortunately, the truth is many young girls would gladly have safe (condom use) sex, if it wasn't for the guys who spend so much time talking them out of it, then ditching them when they get pregnant.
Then you've always got to get the "She should just give it up for adoption." Another simple, but unrealistic viewpoint. Right now, in the U.S., there are hundreds of thousands of children in foster care. Many of them have been moved from home to home. Some used for labor, many abused, and some taken in for the money foster families get. Far too many never placed in loving homes. A lot of those children are in foster care because they were put up for adoption, but no one ever adopted them. They soon become 'too old' for adoption and spend the rest of their young lives wondering what the next foster family will have in store for them. This is especially a problem for minority children. I often wonder why we make such a big issue of claiming people like Angelina Jolie and Madonna are so special because they are adopting African children whose parents are suffering from AIDS when their are hundreds of thousands of African-American children who mothers are AIDS patient who've given them up for adoption in the U.S.
Like I said, the very people who simply say there shouldn't be abortion are often unwilling to do anything about the unwanted children who are born. If all of them actually did more than talk, a lot of the women who opt for abortion might think their unborn children had a chance for some kind of hopeful future.

In the USA it is legal. YES it should stay legal. Its up to each woman (and hopefully the father) to make this decision. I wish more people would give away children to be adopted, but for many reasons... Some we dont want to think about... Girls get abortions. I myself cannot have kids... So I realize more than most that abortion is something that shouldnt take place... However, I realize that due to family, religion, school, and many other things... some girls arent ready to actually give birth.

It already is legal, but it shouldn't be. Yes a woman has the right to choose. She chooses when she decides if she is or isn't going to have sex. I believe 100% that abortion is murder. That child is alive even if it is unborn. It grows and feeds while inside. That's all of the proof you need to know it is alive. If it wasn't alive wouldn't we lay eggs instead of birthing a living human?
Rape victims. It happens. It's not their fault that they ended up pregnant and may not want the responsibility. It still does not give that person the right to murder. They may hate the person who did it, and see that person in their child (I've actually heard that argument before!) Being a rapist is not genetic! It will be born the same as any other child. Innocent. Take it out on the person who wronged you, not an innocent child. If you definitely cannot see yourself treating a child as a human because he/she was conceived by accident, you don't deserve the blessing of that child in your life. Put him/her up for adoption.
About adoption. There truly are many people who would like to have children and cannot. I do understand people's viewpoint on the fact that many of them children live life without being adopted. It would definitely be sad to see a parent less child, but everyone's life is unique and serves a purpose. Those children will grow up, and get jobs, and they may even marry or have children of their own. No one has the right to decide if that life is worth living or not. Everyone deserves a chance at life.

It is legal, and it should stay legal, although I personally could never get one myself. It's not the government's business what we do with our own bodies. HOWEVER I am totally, completely against late term abortions, as the child is at a stage that they could be born and survive. Except in cases where the mother's health is at risk...I do think late term abortions should be illegal. Even then I think they should try to deliver the baby first if it's at all possible.

I believe that abortion is immoral and wrong, but that there are some things that are immoral and wrong that cannot be criminalized, and if criminalized cannot be investigated and punished, without intrusion by government into the most intimate and private affairs of its citizens in ways that the citizens at some point find intolerable. In such cases, the citizens acting through their elected representatives are entitled under our constitution to decriminalize previously criminalized immoral and wrong things by amending or repealing the law if they so choose.
For this to happen, it isn't necessary that the governmental intrusions in question themselves be unconstitutional. Law enforcement agencies are not authorized to exercise all powers that may constitutionally be given to them if the people choose in specified situations to rein them in by law short of the exercise of all the powers that the law enforcement agencies might have been given under the constitution but in the particular situation were withheld from or denied to them by law.
State and Federal legislative reactions to the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the Kelo case, upholding the constitutionality of using eminent domain powers to take property from its owners involuntarily for transfer to other private owners in order to enhance the tax base rather than taking it for governmental use as a highway, etc., are now proceeding in Congress and in many state legislatures and will undoubtedly result in powers that the Supreme Court was willing to allow public bodies to exercise under the constitution being taken away from those public bodies by law. This is the way our system is supposed to work.

Abortions are legal. A woman should have control over how her body is used (especially in the case of rape or health reasons)However, I think that late term abortions should be illegal. The fetus is already viable and in some cases could survive outside the womb with proper medical help.

legalized?... it already is legal in America... and yes it should be other wise we'll have coat hanger abortions in alley ways like they did before it was legal. It is my body and no one should be able to force me to use my body in a way I don't see fit. I would rather see women have abortions than have a world with unwanted children.

Definitely not !! I dont see why in the first place a woman would want an obortion because if they dont want the baby they can just give it up for adoption. I mean there is loads of other people who would love a baby. All they have to do is carry it for nine months.

i feel that late term abortions should be illegal, but then again it's up to the parents to make that decision NOT THE GOVERNMENT. people always say that have the baby and put them up for adoption but that's harder to do, look what happens to the kids that are put up for adoption, they are either bounced around from place to place, beaten, raped or in jail for drugs or something more serious. And for the people who say adoption is better, i wonder how many adopted children are living in there household

Abortion is already legal. In my opinion it should be legal.Even though I would NEVER have an abortion. If abortion becomes illegal women will still have abortions, just illegally. So, even though I am very against it,it should be legal.Every women has their own beliefs,it is a choice a women has to live with.
