What is you goal and your educational level? Are you asking about learning English as a foreign language or Learning grammar, writing, composition, and literature?
If you are serious about learning a foreign language and can handle computer programs well you can get software. "Rosetta stone" is what my daughter is using to learn a language - expensive but very good, I think it's worth it.
Immersion is a technique of learning or attaining fluency by going to a country and speaking the language all the time, this forces you to practice and depend upon your new language.
Taking a class is less intense than immersion, but you may benefit from learning with others and relying on a talented teacher.

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

You can go to a bookstore and get a book. That will help you a lot. The book should be about the English language.
