Marriage is for better or for worse right? In sickness and in health...till death do you part. Although old and conservative that is what couples swear and commit to each other when they face the altar and get wed. Wedding is the ceremoney while marriage is tha act of uniting with each other so much so that both of you SHOULD CLING TO EACH OTHER.
Since you are both one and the same, yes, its normal to feel sad when your husband and better half is sad, you feel sorrowful if he also feels sorrowful- we did not marry a person just coz of the positive and good things that we see and come our way. Wives should generally be a helpmate and someone whom the husband can count on even if the going gets tough, coz that is what we also expect from them isnt it?
Abandonment is not and should never be a choice, although it happens- it should not deter you to let your husband know that you will still be there- even when the road is rocky.
Difficult as it may seem, love endures hardships but then again the next question would be......up until when?
You can help him out financial wise by working two jobs, going into business, etc. Both of you should talk about it though....

Depends on whom I have the debts with, the demands on me to repay the debt, my real ability to pay the debt, my financial situation and the level of support and understanding I am getting from my wife.
