As many as needed. A little girl's dog jumped through a barb wire fence one day chasing a rabbit and ripped it side open. About a four inch cut. I got some Sutures from a Dairy Farmer and we sewed the dog up. It took 20 Stitches, not sure that too many or not. A month later the Vet looked at it and said he could not have done a better job. Also, I showed some of the Teenagers around how to do this and let them tie a few knots. It was a good experience in learning they could actually do things and not always depend on a Professional. We had all the necessary Antibiotics.
