I give them little cards that say "a tree has been planted in israel in your behalf" kids love it!!!

My mom has lived in her house for 45 years and always gave out the full-size candy bars. One Halloween night, about ten years ago, her doorbell rang and there was an adorable little girl holding out her sack and saying "Trick or Treat". My mom let her take her pick of candy bars and off the girl went with a "Thank you!".
Just after she had closed the door, the doorbell rang again. It was the girl's mother. "I just wanted you to know that I used to live in this neighborhood and remember trick-or-treating at your house when I was a little girl and how special it was. I brought my daughter back here so she could experience the same thing".
Ever since then I've been giving out the full-sized bars as well.

I only buy what I like - that way if there are leftovers, well! One Halloween when my son was little there was a horrible snowstorm, but I took him trick or treating. People were putting whole bags of candy in his treat bag!

My family and I recently moved to a nice neighborhood, so this year we're handing out iPods so we make a good impression.
(I hate people that hand out raisins...and healthy crap on Halloween...gimme chocolate and give it to me now!!!)

When I did do the Halloween thingy, I always gave out good stuff....mostly chocolate bars.
I would always give what I would want to receive.....smile

I am locking all my doors and turning out the lights. The people in my "hood" don't wear costumes, are about 6 ft. tall and cary pillow cases. That's scary enough.

We always give the best- snickers, kit-kats, milkey ways, reeses etc.... (nobody comes, we eat it all...)
