Door knob does not have key. From outside there is only a tiny hole in knob - through which I tried putting a long nail and other long tools to see if the door would open - but it does not. The door knob was installed just 2 months ago.

I also removed hinges of the door; but the door does not swing open either.

If the doorknob set did not come with an emergency key (looks just like a key but with no grooves cut out .. completely flat on both edges), then here are some additional options. You'll need to use a bit of extra pressure but you don't need to throw your whole body into it (and as someone above said, it may require a turn of 90 degrees, not a pushing motion):

a small flat-head screwdriver from a sewing machine tool set or a computer repair set

an unbent coat hanger or paper clip (you'll need to maneuver around to hit it just right)

poultry skewer (old fashioned kind like grandma would use to lace up the turkey)

Good luck!

A pin will not work unless it has a button on the inside. If you have a knob on the inside that rotates. Get a small flat blade screwdriver, insert it into the hole and rotate it 90 degrees. You will open the lock. You will have to feel the slot for the screwhead as you can't see it.

Thru that little hole.. there should have been a small wire key thing.. not really a key in the sense of a key.. but it should have come with the set you installed.. IF YOU canot find it.. go to Home Depot and ask to get one.. I have many at my place and I put one at the top of the door sills.. A nail will not work but very very easy with that special key apparatus that came with the lock... so.. again.. go to HOme Depot and get one... another thought.. If you have friends who have those locks with that little hole in the center.. ask them to borrow one from them as one fits all

Those can be tricky. I used to use a kitchen skewer. And the problem is hitting the little target button in there just right. A straightened out wire coat hanger may do the job too.

Good luck!

Try a narrow flat head screwdriver, or something similar to a sardine can opener, insert and turn..if that dosn't work, try a butter knife or credit card to pry the stop back out of the catch..good luck !!!

2 kinds of bath lock, push lock or turn lock:

push lock, u insert a small item and line it up and push the lock back open....

tur lock, u insert a very small flat screw driver in the hole and line it up and turn the driver to unlock......

if the hinges r remove there is no reason that the door will not open, just pull or push it at the hinge area and it will open.......

It should open if you push the nail through the hole. I have used a coat hanger before also. If the lack does not open, I would take it back if you get the door open.
