The answer is 29 the way the equation is written. Order of operations rule, folks.

Brackets are only needed if you want an answer of 45 or 100.

The answer is 45. 4 plus 5 =9 times 5 = 45 Addition before multiplication.

The answer would be 29 if you had brackets around the 5*5. In that case the multiplication is performed before the addition.

Therfore 4+5*5=45,

4 + (5*5)= 29

No way could you get an answer of 100 or 129

Computers perform as they are programmed. and should follow the above rules of mathematics

Depends on what order you use. A calculator will take the multiply first ie: 5*5 = 25 then add the 4 = 29.

You could add claritly by using brackets, ie: (4+5)*5 which would give the answer 45.

It’s 29. There’s no need for brackets because you have to use order of operations. There are no parentheses or exponents so now you must multiply then add.
4+5*5=5*5+4
=25+4
=29
