All governments control the people through fear, even democratic ones. The US is the best example since it is the most paranoid country in the world. I just can't figure out who are the aliens and who are the robots. Perhaps there is no difference in the US.

I sure hope not. Any people who would traverse time and space to control our whole planet should be more advanced than us.
I would be very sad to find out that the "true leaders" were as petty, short-sighted and incapable of planning as we are.
I am still under the hope for our country that we can resolve our problems and let the "leaders" of the USA know that we're tired of living in fear. We are not robots and deserve to be respected.
The Major politicians have run to the middle so much anyway and placated so many people with money, that there's not a thin dime's difference in their overall performance. They do not know how to help people and both parties support all "War on X". They only know how to draft restrictive and punitive laws. Politicians and governments are not good at "convincing" people. Only FORCING them to obey.
Getting more people to vote in the first place will help diminish the power politicians have of buying groups' support with campaign promises.

MOST PEOPLE THINK THIS QUESTION IS A CHEAP LAUGH ( I HOPE IT'S NOT) BUT ALIES DO EXIST. I'VE SEEN THE UFOs AND THE REAL MEN IN BLACK. YES, WE ARE LIVING IN FEAR. HUMANS ARE LAMBS FOR THE SLAUGHTER. WE LIVE ONLY TO WORK AND WORK TO LIVE SO WE CAN PAY TAXES BEFORE OR AFTER THE BABY IS BORN WHILE THE BABY BECOMES AN ADULT AND OLD AGE (THE COFFIN TAX). THE ONLY WAY OF GETTING OUT PAYING TAX IS BEING DEAD. IF YOU HAVE KIDS THAN THEY INHERIT YOUR DEBT. EITHER SIGN YOUR DEATH CERTIFICATE GOING TO WAR OR STAY HERE AND PAY TAXES. ALIENS ARE HER ON EARTH. THEY MONITOR FROM THE SKY AT THE DEAD OF NIGHT AND MOVE SLOW LIKE A "NORMAL" PLANE WOULD.
I DON'T KNOW IF ALIENS ARE CONTROLLING WORLD AFFAIRS BUT WITH ALL THIS COMMOTION I'LL BE SHOCKED BUT NOT SUPRISED. HUMANS ARE CATTLE TO ALIES JUST LIKE COWS ARE CATTLE TO US. WE'RE BORN FOR THE GRAVE.
