This is more than just a choice of what to wear. This is an anti-western statement. I was not surprised to read that this woman has links to the mosque used by the 7/7 murderers.
In western culutre, face to face communication is valued as a respresentation of honesty and openness. Covering the face represents deceit, duplicity etc. Theives and robbers cover their faces, honest people do not.
By rejecting this and insisting on the veil this woman is deliberately making an open rejection of us and our culture.
But she's still going to cost us £250,000 in legal aid to take her case to the European court. I'm sure her Mullahs could raise this money for her. Hook Hamza has enough.
Or perhaps all the liberals who beleive "its her right - poor woman - she's being persecuted by racists" should club together to pay her legal fees? I don't want to.
Perhaps she should go and live in an Islamic State? With no legal aid, NHS, benefits etc? Yeah of course she won't!

ramsmenon -
where in my post did I say the veil should be "banned?"
You are putting words into my mouth dear friend.
I sense from your post you are a muslim and perhaps feeling guilty/embarrassed at the way some of your brothers and sisters behave. Thats OK I feel ashamed of the behavious of some of my countrymen.
I don't think it should be banned but anyone who insists on wearing it against the wishes of their employers should go and live somewhere where it will not be a problem, rather than costing the taxpayer £250,000 in legal fees.
I beleive she is an extremist anyway.

Aishah Azmi, the 24 year-old teacher, does attend the fundamentalist Markazi mosque in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire - which was attended by suicide bomber Mohammed Sidique Khan. I believe that she was encouraged to fight the legal issue to the full extent of the court so that legal precedent may be set.
There is a process of Islamification taking place around the world. You can read the paper "From Dawa to Jihad: the various threats from radical Islam to the democratic order" in the link below.

Your right to complain about legal aid going to any foreign visitors is a valid point of argument. If you or i wish to go somewhere like australia, we have to prove we can pay for our living whist out there, pay our legal costs if we get into trouble, insure ourselves for matters such as health, and basically not be a burden to the country we wish to reside in.
I was surprized to read that she has connections to the 7/7 murderers mosque, Its funny how these more high profile visitors are all connected to each other so closely.
And no, i dont suppose she wishes to go back to an uncivilized muslim state, when she can live here and be given a soap box to work from, carrying on from the likes of hook hand and co.

ramsmenon - looks like your on your own with your opinion? That's quite a rant isn't it? The fact is that yes, our culture has made mistakes in its history, but you are still making the mistakes we made years ago!!
For me its quite simple, should she wear a veil at work... NO
Should she get legal aid.. NO
Always amazes me that people like this women who live in a free, and yes ramsenon, a DEMOCRATIC country cant abide or try to integrate in to the culture.
Why do we get these people who slag of our way of life, criticise our culture, our beliefs and our way of life. Why, if it is so bad do they continue to put up with it?
I'll tell you why because they know what freedom and democracy tastes like and they would not be able to spout off like Ramsmenon has done. In most, if not all Islamic countries, a knock at the door during the night by the secret police would be the response of the government in most Islamic country's.
When in Rome? Actually I prefer "Put up or shut up"

Many Islamic states also ban the wearing of the veil so she woudl have difficulty finding somewhere else that would allow her to wear it. While I do not agree that the veil should be banned, it should be like any other fashion item when it comes to work - i.e. your employer decides whether its acceptable or not. The veil is not worn for religious reasons but is a throwback to a desert culture. The UK has no deserts and does not subscribe to these cultural beliefs so it is unreasonable for anyone to object to being asked to remove their veil. If you want to live in the UK then you must accept our culture. When I am in an Islamic state I dress differently because I do not want to give offence and because I respect their culture. Veil wearers are disrespectful of the UK culture. I fully support Kirklees Council and hope this woman has her *** kicked in the European Court.

I personally don't care if she wears a veil or puts a brown paper bag over her head. Having said that it is amazing that all these Muslims who say they support her are the same kind of people who want Sharia Law etc, etc. Go to Saudi Arabia and tell them that they should have British laws and see what happens to you! There is an'extraction of the urine' going on but Tony Bliar and his chums are responsible for most of this nonsense because they brought in the Human Rights Act, pity they didn't bring in Human Responsibilities Act at the same time.

i'm muslim. i do not conceal my hair and that i comprehend of no muslim male who thinks i'm a ****. there is also a Christian dogma that announces females might want to both conceal their hair or shave all their hair off. i'm very particular you made up the statistic about muslim adult males being frequently convicted of rape in western international locations- you ought to furnish some data before u make such accusations. however in the journey that they did rape, atleast females might want to have the delight that below islamic regulation, scum bags who commit rape go in the route of the lack of life penalty. they don't seem positioned at the back of bars in difficulty-free words to come back out of penitentiary back and repeat a similar crime like in western international locations. Muslims certainly do no longer make undesirable voters. Hateful bigots like you're making undesirable voters.

What amazes me is also that she is working in a Church of England School! How can she say she has the ability to teach anglican religious culture when she refuses to accept our way of life?
I am quite happy for her to practice her own religion on her own time, but if she is such a strong muslim, she should be working in a muslim school.
I don't think if I went to any islamic state, I would be able to consume alcohol (which is part of my culture) so there is no reason why anyone here should not live in accordance with our customs.
There is freedom of choice here - choose to go elsewhere if you don't like it.

Right you are. That pathetic broad parading around with just her beady eyes looking menacingly out of those slits. Is she a man or a woman? Is she ugly or gorgeous? Does she have the look of a woman who is confident, or is she a mouse of a woman who is in that classroom. She must conform to our culture if she wishes to live and work here. Of course she is giving her religious middle finger to the West as she has been instructed to do by her father or uncle or husband or some male who wants to get points with Mr. Big with the towel sitting on his head. Prejudiced against this broad? Yup. Tough. Oh, I am also prejudiced against school boards, etc. with members too timid to tell her to take the face cloth off and expose her face to men.

I've heard Britain's tell us we're intolerant for wanting to close our borders and deport illegal aliens. Your going through the same thing. The sovereignty of a nation is in jeopardy when it's culture isn't preserved.
She should be allowed to wear the veil if it's her personal choice until she enters a place in that country where it is prohibited.
