It is because the child has been taught they they will receive some sort of reward for their bratty behavior. You'll discover the reward if you look and analyze enogh. You, on the other hand, don't give them the reward. (The reward can be negative or positive so thnk about what's going on in the family.) Good question.

OK WHEN YOU BABYSIT A CHILD THEY ACT ALL CALM AND COLLECTIVE BECAUSE THEY MIGHT REALLY DON'T KNOW YOU AND BE THINKING OK WE GOT TO DO WHAT WE SUPPOSE TO DO BUT WHEN THE PARENTS COME AROUND THEY START ACTING LIKE THAT BECAUSE THE PARENT MIGHT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING AND THEN THATS WHEN THEY FEEL THEY SHOULDN'T LISTEN TO YOU ANYMORE.

Parents prefer bad behaviour in front of them, rather than in public. Therefore the child knows when to misbehave and when not to!

Because some parents let their kids do more/less than you or handle them a different way than you do. so the children respond differently. take care.
