I read an article about it
It says that there are approx. 50 million flights around the world in one year period
and there are about 50 accidents a year
so the possibility is one in a million.

Yes. Flying is safe. A lot safer than driving. It is probably less safe on commercial airlines in Eastern Europe, and in some countries in the Pacific Rim. But it is very safe in the U.S. and in Western Europe.

Private planes are less safe if piloted by "amateur" pilots, as compared to professional pilots.

I personally have never flown. But airlines are very safe. Did you know that it is a proven fact that you are actually safer flying then driving. There are 100++ times more car wrecks then there are plane crashes.

Good Luck and you will be fine flying

It is safe. There are millions of airplanes flying everyday, and they all reach their destination. Very rarely anything happens.
I have heard the probobility of anything going wrong is 1 out of 1,000,000,000!
Anyway, we don't really have any alternative these days, so it's better to think positively.

like they say flying is the safest way to travel
there is a similar question that claims you would have to travel by plane once a day for 26,000 years before you would be in a fatal crash I don't know if it's true
basically you have to observe how many people fly by plane every day verses how planes crash every day (close to zero)
flying over seas shouldn't increase your chances of a crash by much because most plane crashes happen near the runway

Every mode of travel has its risks - anything can happen even flying!

If you have a fear for flying then opt for other means of transport, if possible like cruise, coach tours, etc...

If you're still paranoid about traveling, easiest way out - stay at home!

Flying is safe. You ride in a car every day, and there are thousands of car crashes. Large passenger planes very rarely crash, and you shouldn't be scared.

You are actually safer being in a commercial airplane than going about doing your normal daily routine. Go fly and enjoy.

UNSAFE ~ flying in small private planes.

EXTREMEMLY SAFE ~ flying in commercial jets. The chances of you dying on the ground is GREATER than while flying in a commercial plane.
