Yes. We don't live in isolation and though it is not healthy to live only for others, we have to give and take. It depends on what you're talking about changing though and whether it will really make a difference.

Sometimes we just keep on doing things to try and please that person who's busy watching the television and won't look up. That can really have a negative impact on a relationship and one's esteem. However, there are times when we like people but wish, perhaps, that they didn't talk with their mouth open or that they weren't so shy or so boisterous. You can't change who you are completely and if the change is too difficult for you then it is unreasonable but if you can change some aspect to please a person who will notice, then do it.

The shy person should try and make an effort to go dancing with the other half who loves dancing, and the boisterous person should be attuned to when it is better to listen to that person...

Nope... I tried doing that when I was 12 (just to fit in) and I was very unhappy... I'd rather make myself happy rather than some one else... okay, that didn't sound right but it's true... I'm not a people pleaser, anyway.

I have, then I realized that I wasn't happy with the change and that people should love you for who you are. If they don't, then they aren't someone you should associate with.
