You can buy infant glycerin suppositories at any drug store. If you feel they are too large (because I can't tell how old your baby is), you can trim them down. They contain no drugs but work by both lubricating and stimulating the rectum. You don't have to worry about your baby losing vitamins, minerals, or electrolytes with suppository use. That only happen when infants get diarrhea, and or vomiting.

Well...maybe some watered down prune juice? Are you nursing? If the baby is bottle fed, try a lower-iron formula for a while. My youngest had BAD constipation til he was about 10 months old. What I did was...1. massaged his belly in a counterclockwise motion about 3-4 times a day for about 10 minutes at a time, 2. switched to lactose-free formula, 3. got Kondremul (sp?) from the pharmacy and added a couple teaspoonfuls to his bottle once in the morning. It seemed to help. We also ended up using infant suppositories occasionally, but make sure to check with your pediatrician first. They're not for everyone. If you can identify what's causing the constipation, then you can better idenitify a solution.
Best wishes! It's noooo fun when you're little one is unhappy. =-(

Call her Doctor and find out the ratio for light Karo syrup and water is. It's been a few years I can't remember. I think it's 1 tsp in 8 ounces of water. It's also a good idea to tell her Doctor about the constipation her might want to put her on something low iron.

Try a little Kayro syrup in her bottle. You can also buy Colace, a stool softener for infants.

You can give her mineral oil, not much though. There are child suppositories that you can give, but call your pediatrician first. They can loose vitamins with mineral oil.

talk with the doctor about it, but if it is occasional, glycerin suppositories are the treatment.
