So i bought a Rhino propane tank for $50 to use with my turkey deep fryer...used it once, still has plenty of propane in it

I live in an apt building on the 5th floor...i have a storage unit in the building, but it is on the fifth floor too.

At the last apt i lived at, the fire department told the landlord that the first floor can use gas grills, but all the floors above have to use charcoal, because the gas is denser then air, and can leak and go down into people apartments. For this reason, i don't think its legal to store the tank on my balcony or storage unit...

So right now its just sitting in my car (i know, prob not safe), but i don't know what else to do with it...i don't want to get rid of it becasue of the investment...

Anyone know what i can do? please don't just list what you do if you don't know if its legal...there are lots of restrictions on what you can and can't do with gas.

Thanks

PUT IN BOX, DON'T TELL....
PLUS ALL NEW TANKS HAVE A DOUBLE SAFETY....

UN HOOK YOUR HOSE & TRY TO LET OUT SOME GAS....

YOU CAN'T - SAFETY VALVE!

YOU USED TO BE ABLE TO DUMP ALL 20 LBS @ WILL - VERY DANGERIOUS! - NO PROB NOW!

Because of YOUR aparatment restrictions.. storing it in the storage area on the 5th floor is not legal.. Does the apartment complex have an outside storage facility for occupants? Some do. If not.. you are just out of luck... UNLESS you are lucky enough to have a garage with your unit

well where did you deep fry your turkey? see if they can store it for you. if you did it on your balcony of your appartment you already broke laws so don't worry about it and just keep it out there. i definetly wouldn't keep it inside though. it should be fine on the balcony. the surrounding air will disipate the gas and it would take a lot of gas in the air to leak into other peoples apartments.
