My Camry used to have that too. It's like the first person said. The power button just tells the transmission to hold the shift until a higher RPM.
In an automatic, especially a Japanese one, the transmission is typically progammed to save gas so it shifts pretty early. The power button allows you to access more of the power band of your engine for more spirited driving. This would theoretically also give you more torque and slightly better engine braking for towing.

Used mostly for hilly conditions, or when pulling a load on a trailer. Changes the way the transmission changes gears, and will downshift a bit quicker when needed. Think of it as "power" or "economy" choices.
