It makes sense to expect the worst.
If it happens, you were prepared for it.
If it doesn't, you will be surprised and pleased.
That's a win - win scenario in my books.

If you assume the worst, and it doesn't happen, then you can consider yourself pleasantly surprised. I'm not paranoid enough to think the worst is going to happen ALL the time, but if you're expecting it, you're at least prepared to face it.
Two short items: The old farmer, when things are going well, always wonders what the next problem is going to be.
A prayer for God to send you problems will not only prove there is a God (when you get the delivery) but will prepare you to face them.
So don't hide under the bed or anything, but yes, realistically expect things to not go well, and feel happy if they do. Good luck.

I always look at reality. No matter what the situation may be,I look at good & bad. Sometimes the bad looks to be the more realistic outcome,but that's not assuming the worst.

yeah i almost always assume the worst. If my boyfriend doesn't pick up his phone I almost always assume he is cheating, and I feel so bad about that. Because I know in my heart that he woulden't do that, but I still assume that he is. It sux!

I assume the worst, hope for the best. it's easier to expect the bad and plan for it then not plan for it and have to deal with the bad.

I do like in every situation!
When my boyfriend does not call i think he hates me, or he found about last night...lol, or when i let my dog out in the morning and i go out to get him and he is gone i think he's dead...he got hit by a car...someone stole him, then what really gets me is when my sister calls me...omg i think she wants me to take her kids...she needs a ride...she wants money...she needs to borrow my shoes, so i don't even answer the phone!

And I also prefer lightness over darkness...
Life is beautiful and a precious gift... I see it everyday when I see my children and know that it will get even better with a lot of hard work.....
