YES I HAVE!!!
I LOVED it. But then again, I think your mindset has to already kinda BE there in order to really grasp the experience. The Rainbow Family used to come through the Southern Illinois region in the late summer/early fall every year, and camp out at the Shawnee National Forest. I definitely have the hippie mentality, I just don't have that outward "look" of a hippie. I LOVED going to the gatherings though. SOOO philosophical and enlightening, plus it was so serene and peaceful.
Also, to the guy talking about "do you have to gay up everything" the Rainbow Family isn't a gay organization, it's a group of hippies....again, I really get frustrated with people who ASSUME.

The high school girls who I taught were convinced that I was a hippie. I was a bit too young and naive at the time of Woodstock.
I never got the chance to experience the freedom, but I'm glad I missed the drugs.
