Do the songs that are skipped play OK on another player or PC etc?
If not, they are corrupt or aren't MP3 files.
If they do play OK then check the bitrate and file names, perhaps the phone can't play certain bitrates and objects to certain file name formats.
If there's nothing unusual abot file names or bitrates and they play fine elsewhere, take the phone back for a refund and try another make / model.
When doiung this, take the files that cause problems and insist on hearing the new phone playing them.

not familiar with your phone but could it have an option to ' shuffle ' ? if so then it will play your songs at random and not in order.

check the songs are not copy protected.... remove them all, and virus scan the phone/files... also wma files are not liked by majority of phones......
