bamboo do i need to do anything else with my stems other than ensure the water is changed weekly ? thanks?

No, just change the water. If it ever looks deficient in any way spray the leaves with a 1/2 strength liquid fert like miracle grow.

use a filtered watter small amounts of food and spray from time to time.
