Because cars are cars and trucks are trucks, they would never race against each other..

it will never happen for 2 reasons.....one is brian france, the other is the governing bodies own rules for competition within the actual races themselves. another factor is the engine/transmission/gearing for the trucks. they dont run the same gears, etc that the cup cars do. nor do they run the same shocks and areo package either. take a look at the qualifying for the cup cars (with the plates on) and the trucks (with no plates) at daytona in feb of 07. the trucks run 175 or so the pole for the cup cars was over 189. the trucks would get murdered in a race like that.

To be honest, I think that would be fun at some of the larger tracks like Pocono or Indy. Definitely not at Daytona or Talladega though. Restrictor Plates already make it crazy.

This philosophy is already done with the GT series. You already have the super-modified McLaren's and Audi's running on the same track, and at the same time as the Porsche's, Corvette's, and Viper's.... even though they are far superior cars.

This certainly would NOT work at places like Martinsville and Bristol where 43 cars is already too many.

I'd be willing to see it once or twice, just to see how it goes. You'd almost have to limit the field though. (i.e. 30 cars and 20 trucks) If you had 43 cars and 36 trucks, that would be just too crazy!

The cars would definitely finish first. The trucks would cause too many wrecks and just get in their way. Its a bad idea cuz the cars are made to go faster with their drafting and so on.

IMCA regional did this at Road America as a support race for the weekend. With the long straights and tight curves it actually allow for parity between trucks and cars.

The cars and truck are on a totally different set up,rules and engines. Very unsafe and it will never happen.
