Because that is her grading system. As long as she rounds everyone's grades down, she is being fair.

Maybe she understands calculus very well but has forgotten the basics of simple arithmetic! But seriously, I have never heard of grading down like this. I grade down when it's under half a point and up with half points-plus. In fact, that is the standard we use here for State exams through the Ministry of Education. It all balances out that way. Her system does not. I'd say check to see what other teachers do. If she is an exception, then she is probably not in compliance with the school's system, so a quiet word to the principal by someone from the PTA would be enough to get this problem fixed.

she's a nutcase- plain and simple.
my math teacher is too.
& she's not being fair. she should raise everyone's UP so that they all do better in her class
afterall, if she's a real teacher she should want all her students to have the highest grade possible

That's even mathamatically incorrect. I mean, being a math teacher, she should be able to do simple estimation by now. I'm not taking sides though.

she shouldn't be a math teacher if she cannot round to the nearest tenth of a point.
