Did you know that its the movie company that attaches them to their films - and not the local theater?

Do you really think the theaters care a bit about what you think? They care about the bottom line.

Bring back the cartoons and short subjects from the days when I was a kid. Now THAT was a real treat.

When was the last time you saw a double feature? Do you even know what that is?

I haven't been to see a film in a theater in over 15 years because I just don't think the value is there anymore.

I object greatly to this. It's one thing to show preivews for coming attractions...you're in a movie theater and that's to be expected. I can even go so far as to see (somewhat) soft drinks being advertised. But do I really need to see ads for new cars or the armed forces? I think not. I can clearly remember when this phenomenon first began...I was working at a movie theater then and it was primarily Coke ads. We HAD to make sure that the Coke add was attached to certain movies for certain amounts of time. Companies who send out these ads also send out people to check up and make sure that they are being shown properly.

On the other hand, I do now know that if I'm going to see a fairly new movie, I can be a few minutes late without missing any previews. I LOVE previews!

Yes it's annoying! You pay so much to see the movie (& a fortune if you get popcorn & drinks too) & then have to sit through commercials. Previews of other movies, I can deal with but actual commercials, like on TV is a bit much! Usually they do try to make them somewhat theatrical for the big screen, but still.

Commercials before a movie that you paid 10 dollars for is just like receving a cold sales call at work, holding up your phones lines inhibiting your business. To me, movies are serious business. Marketting geeks need to learn other ways of getting our attention. Like actually do some work and advertise with a sign out on the street, besides getting everything else to take care of it for them.

I used to , when they first started doing that. But now they make special ads just for cinemas and they're mostly really cool - awsome graphics, award-winning designs - really a visual treat. I'm in no hurry to get out of there, and it also means you can be late for the movie by 20 minutes and still not miss anything.

Yes, I do, enormously. I pay my bucks to avoid commercials. Believe me, no company that advertises in this manner is ever going to be a recipient of a purchase from me.
But, as per your comment, I guess that doesn't matter much to those cutting commercial deals behind closed doors.

I don't care who is responsible. I hate that! And I stopped going to the theatre because of them. Now I only see movies when they come out in DVD and I can zap the commercials and the popcorn is way cheaper, too!

Yes, I do. I didn't pay to go see a bunch of commercials, I paid to see the movie. If I wanted to see commercials, I'd stay at home and watch T.V.

yes I do. I paid a lot to get in, I don't want to be force fed a bunch of advertisements.
