It's not a county but a province of China i think.
If somneone want to say it is a indepengdent country maybe he or she is behind of Chenshuobian . However,all kinds of people have various opinions about this issue,to us mainland people it is a part of China of crouse.

taiwan was part of china, then in a treaty alil over 100 yrs ago rented to Britain, who had to give it back a few years ago...now its part of china again
