guide to mitigation after guilty verdict?

although i have been found guilty i am innocent and my family and friends are doing there upmost to prove this

Then don't even bother with "mitigation". Mitigation accepts guilt but pleads for special circumstances to be taken into consideration when determining the appropriate punishment.

Speak to your lawyer about the possibility of an appeal.
