I hate how woman get all the good things in divorces. Its like, whats mine is mine, ad whats yours is mine too. Yeah, I am a woman, but if I ever got a divorce, I would do the fair thing and whats mine is mine and whats yours is yours, and whats ours is sold and the money goes to each of us. Some woman can be a complete ***** when it comes to divorce. I would buy a car that you know she hates, pick the nastyest color, and create some problems in the mechanics. ie. get bad oil, bad gas, put lead shavings in the gas tank. things that she needs to repair if she claims it. If she doesnt, sell it on e-bay.

Most states property between partners in a relationship is community property and she could take half. Like in Kansas for instance if you had two cars and she took them both. You are flapping on your own because there is nothing you can do. It is legal. So be careful.

So wait until the divorce is done. Put some money away not in an account that can be seen or divided.

I don't think so....but it depends when its bought, how it compares to the one she has,.... whether or not you have kids and if the new car would be safer for her for that reason, and whether any money that should be counted in the divorce settlement is used to buy it. If you want to make sure she can't take your car.... wait and buy it after the divorce it settled. I find it strange that you only have one car.... most families have 2 these days.

If she is taking the car you now have, and she already has it, it is likely that you will be safe buying one, UNLESS this is a dirty divorce. The best bet is to wait until she signs the agreement of the division of your and her property. Always better safe than sorry.

IF YOU BUY IT AFTER DIVORCE IS FINAL, NO-THE DIVORCE IS FINAL.
BEFORE THE DIVORCE, ANY MAJOR PURCHASES YOU MAKE, SHE CAN GO AFTER
