I'm so dumb, I just recolored my favorite pic of my cat (I was going to turn it into a wallpaper) and I didn't change the name when I was saving it. doh!

Ooops, sorry, you won't be able to ... once it is overwritten, and saved, it is gone.

Here is are suggestions for future reference....

Never work with an original file. Do absolutely nothing with it. Save a copy, then open the copy. That way you never accidentally over write the original.

Keep all of your originals on an external hard drive. Download them from your camera or disk to the external hard drive, Then make a copy of the file on the hard drive of your computer. Always work with the files on your computer hard drive. That way you always have the originals backed up on the external hard drive.

There is no possible way of retrieving your picture, especially since its the only one that you had of your cat. sorry. when a picture is overwritten it is like taking the old ones out and throwing it away never to be seen again, however, if u didnt close the program you could have used the undo function and return the picture to its original state, then save it and then clolor it again and save it as something different, or use the redo function and save it. but if u closed it already, im sorry about u not being able to retrieve it again

If you saved it without changing the name, the previous version is gone forever. You overwrote it.
