I have been since I can remember... 1st or 2nd grade, I think...I didn't much like being an honor roll kid because I wanted to be on the superintendent's list (highest you can get, all A's), and now that I've been on there, it bores me...

Oh, yah. Straight "A's" throughout my grammar and high schooling. Top of the list, ma! Lookie what I can think!
But then I went to college and discovered that nobody ... not even my professors, gave a good goddamn what kind of grades I got. The key was to provide interesting intellectual exercise, and prove that my mind was more than a blob of nerve tissue.
This I did, with comparatively minimal effort. And I was much happier.

Oh no,i would amount to nothing:that's what I kept hearing.
And:what did I become:a teacher.
So there you have it:the ones who weren't on the honor roll get good jobs.What happened to the good ones?
