Call someplace and find out...or go get a shop vac.

If you dont have one, rent a rug shampooer from a store. Use it to extract water from the carpet. If there is a lot of water, you might need to go over the carpet 2 or 3 times. I no longer know what a rug shampooer rents for, as my daughter has 1 and I borrow hers.

If you have to get water out of a carpet the longer you wait the worse it's going to be.

Rent a shop vac or buy one, they're not expensive. Do it yourself. Vacuum up all the water and then let it dry. You may have to replace the carpet and the flooring underneath due to the mildew problems.'

If you are coming to this forum to ask this question, then I would guess that the water has been sitting there for awhile. It is probably too late and you already have mildew, fungus and mold. Now you have many problems and need to buy new carpet and possibly new floor boards. Good Luck.
