Other than me having a lot of issues in my life personally...like with me losing my job, and just feeling depressed...my boyfriend and I have been fighting a lot and to be honest, I start about 98% of them. Some people might say that I am doing this because I dont want to be with him anymore, but that could be further from the truth because when he is here all my troubles go away and I'm so happy. I get mad when he leaves me and I feel like after a year, I cant wait anymore that I know he makes my everyday life so much brighter and I can't stand the teasing anymore. Does anyone agree that long distance can put a strain on your relationship or just make you depressed all together? I'm trying to find way to make my life positive without him here.

Long distance relationships can put a strain on things...not to mention, when life gets stressful it is often the person you love the most that you take it out on. It sounds overly simplistic, but the best thing you can do is laugh. When things go wrong or just seem bleak, keeping your sense of humour and trying to see it in a comical light will ease your spirits and make things easier to deal with. It is easier said than done, and takes a lot of effort, but it works. And, if you are a happier person, your relationship will be better for it.

If you lost your job, why aren't you there with him wherever he lives? Yes it puts strain on a relationship. I know you will get pissed at me, but long distance relationships are a waste of time. They are usually for people who are afraid of commitment. If you weren't afraid of it, then you would do anything in your power to be with that person. Really, don't try to find a way to live without a person there with you.. Either be with them or don't. And yes, long distance relationships seem perfect, you don't have to see each-other on a daily basis, and your entire relationship revolves on when you can see them again. So you are like star crossed lovers doing everything in your power to be able to see eachother once more, blah blah blah wah wah wah.. Lifes short, be with the one you love.

I find it puts a huge strain on the relationship. You actually end up pushing the person away because you start to resent them for being away so much.

I am in a long distance relationship myself, its bloody hard & you need a positive outlook other wise it will fold up into nothing.
Take a step back and look at your whole scenario,
let your brain rule your heart on this one...............
........ or you will be admitted to the looney bin cuz you let it eat you away.

I feel that you want to be with someone who you can touch and taste and actually put your arms around. Someone to hold you when you need held. That's what that special person is there for. That is just my opinion thou.. Good luck..
