My 8yr old summed it up well when he said " Mum, those horoscopes don't say anything - it could mean whatever you want it to!"

You're right we can't all be living the same life - but I do read them from time to time (at the end of the day to see how outlandishly wrong or right they were. - I don't know why!!)

The Aquarius man will think the Scorpio woman is too manipulating/controlling/clingy

It depends on the other aspects of the birth chart though, sometimes everything else matches up. That's how millions of people are different. The planets are aligned a different way every millisecond.

Your horoscope is based on the positions of the stars on the minute that you were born so all scorpios would be different if you get into a more personalized horoscope.
The ones printed in the newspaper or wherever you see them are very general covering everyone who is a Scorpio.
Horoscopes don't predict your future. They deal more with your personality and your interaction with others. Mostly they try to find something positive to boost your ego a bit.

I agree with you that it doesn't really affect your life. People who believe it are usually weirdos anyway.

BTW U don't use text when U ask a question on the internet.
Learn the language. It's not that difficult.

People who believe in it try to get around that by a complex combination of planets in different position on one day, as keipitrig has said. In response,

I am a twin, we were born 3 minutes apart. We have COMPLETELY different personalities, yet the planets would have been in the same position.

People pick out the bits that fit them. I'm a Taurus and Taurus is meant to be stubborn. I am stubborn, but also I know lots of other star signs who are too!

If you can explain to me SCIENTIFICALLY how the position of a giant lump of rock millions of miles away shapes my personality, more than my social environment and my personal relationships, then go ahead!

I agree that the horoscopes in the newspapers or magazines are simply for entertainment and are for the general population. Personalized astrology is where the seperation between people of the same sign can be detatiled. Every person in every sign is different because the planets were in different positions at their times of birth. The sun is not the only star in the sky. There's a position for the moon, mars, venus, jupiter, saturn, neptune, etc. So, everyone's personality is created by the location of the planets at their time of birth. For instance, my sun is Cancer, moon Gemini, and rising Leo. I forget the other planets locations, but they all combine to make me my very own unique self. Just like every other person in the world.

Well according to astrology Scorpio`s are s`pposed to think Aquarians swing from the trees(are nuts) and vice versa.I`m also a Scorpio and I `d probably agree with that one,BUT if it works it works, perhaps His other signs are compatible. As long as the major boxes are ticked I`d just thank my lucky stars we were thrown together.
What You say about it working and if You really like each other You will,it still boils down to compatibility- reflection of what`s in the stars.Things can work if You want them to it just means a greater effort, and more understanding,of behavioural traits that might be totally alien.(and whether He`s hot, loyal, affectionate and generous etc!) Have trouble pschoanalysing these specimens though, but I do like suprises !!

My 12yr old said 'someone must get paid to sit and think of any old rubbish to put as horoscopes, and I could do that job!!'

Im a scorpio and I work with people who are scorpios's - we are all different, with different characters, likes and dislikes. three of us share the same birthday, so really it blows the theory of horoscopes being accurate out of the water!

ok so there are approx 60 million people in the uk, if there are 12 star signs then that means approx 5 million people per star sign, so when you read that a man with a green jacket wearing a purple hat has some news for you obviously only as long as he lives at no 23 then all this relates to another 4,999,999 people too.............yeah whatever.
Horoscopes are for people who are weak minded, and intellectually naive

Horoscopes are primarily for entertainment value, in my humble opinion.

I think even the real die-hard astrology enthusiasts would argue that your sun sign by itself would not be enough to predict how your day would go. They generally believe there are other factors that come into play (like your moon sign.)

Past, present & future can only be rrhtly predicted, subject to the availability of DOB, Place, Time, wherein the transition of planets do fortell everything. Believe it.
