It depends on who is the person that is criticizing and if the criticism is constructive or destructive. If it comes from negative persons I will ignore it completely and go on with my life. If it is a positive criticism, I will hear it and probably make some changes to improve. However most of the time criticism is destructive and you should just ignore them, beacuse they are not worth it and reacting defensively will make them happy they tried to destroy you. Don't let them do that....Remeber that the silence treatment is worse that a reaction to most people......Good luck.

I do a little bit of both. Usually, the person who criticizes me has no life anyway, so I completely ignore them.

Take on board justified criticism. Let unjustfied, malicious criticism slide off me like water off a duck's back. The skill is in recognising which is which.

If someone looks receptive to conversation, I will usually engage them in a defense of my position. If not, I make a joke about how right they are about me to avoid conflict. I'm not the type of personality to push back. Some people like to push back.

"Oh yeah? Well then you do it since you think you're so much better. No, I'm not going to answer your questions and tell you anything, you're on your own."
