OK, I saw The Prestige last night and basically enjoyed it until the last 60 seconds, when it just got confusing. I generally consider myself a smart guy, and I spotted the main twist about halfway through the film, but was there more to it? Can someone explain what happened to me?

basically, the machine could actually duplicate people. bile discovered this and instead of continuing to use the machine, he decided to build a relationship with his double as opposed to jackman who just drowned them because he was so obsessed with becoming the best magician in the land. at the end when his assistant said do you know what the sailors said about drowning. ("it's like agony") jackman finally realized that his doubles were actually real people and the his obsession made him blind and he was actually committing murder this whole time. Tesla had warned him about his obsession.

On the scene in which Angier was once shot, even as Borden was once strolling out, there was once an upright field with a person within. Angier within?? It does not make considering that simply to quite simply shoot Angier to finish it. Both men might have quite simply killed each and every different with out losing time studying each and every different's mystery. If that man within the field was once certainly Angier, then each characters remained alive ultimately.

Wait, it wasn't Alfred Borden's clone. The four people I saw it with all think that it is his twin brother...why whenever asked which knot he tied he says "I don't know" since he always asks the one who didn't tie it. There is no way they could have just used the machine because because it started at pretty much the beginning (why when he and Sarah have a new relationship she always says "Some days you love me and some you don't." On the days he doesn't it is a different brother.
