The universe is constantly expanding, because it's ends ultimately define the end of all matter and existence as we understand it, it isn't expanding into anything. It is instead stretching itself. The earth is unaffected by it. The universe is always in constant motion, but never out of balance or off kilter, meaning that we will change our position in the universe to compensate the newly found space, but because the universe keeps all forms of matter and energy in check at all times, that shift is inconsequential to the state of our existence.

The Universe is expanding. It means the distance between every two nearby galaxies is increasing. Thus gaxaxies are going away from each other. This will result into occupying more and more space.
I am of the opinion that the Universe is expanding in a definite volume of space restricted by Absolute Zero(0 k) temperature. Universe is expanding due to the force created due to Absolute Zero(0 k) temp. The Universe will collapse when it will reach 0 k belt because the force causing expansion will be zero there. Beyond 0 k the laws of physics will change - means attraction will become repulsion and that area will repel everything coming near to it. Thus energy of our Universe will be conserved.
But scientists say that Universe itself creates space. I say - the matter can only occupy the space but it can't create space.

In reality the Universe is expanding and despite what people say, God is the answer to your question. Astronomy always fascinated me. But it was only when I became a Born-Again-Christian that I could comprehend what the Universe was all about.
It's about putting your faith in Jesus Christ the one true God who Created the Heavens and the Earth, only then can anyone really see and understand everything that God has planned for us. Both on earth and in the universe. That's where it will all end, by man's sinful nature, and looking through my telescope, I can only marvel at Gods Creation. It's then you know that nothing made ever came from nothing. Theories abound, but many Scientists are now becoming Christians, also remember that "theory is a long way from Fact".
God Bless You

Hi. Try to imagine a glass full of soap bubbles. If one bubble expands it will push against the others. If they all expand they will push against the side of the glass. Now imagine there is no glass and the foam goes on infinitely. Next imagine the the bubbles which make up the foam are also not there. Lastly, imagine the air which made up the contents of the foam is vacuum instead. If you can imagine all of this in your head you'll have a better picture of what may be going on.

At the big bang the light was sent out and it was bent back on itself by enormous gravity, so the universe is doughnut shaped, It is expanding into nothing, no colour, no matter, no light.
NOTHING!!! our minds can't quite get this, Just think to yourself "we'll never even get to the edge of the universe due to its doughnut-like shape (we'll go round in circles!!!)
Or the simple answer: NAFIN MAN INIT?

Earth and its nearest neighbours , Mercury , Venus and Mars are all rocky planets.Earth weights about 6 sextillion tonnes.Part that is expanding could be a sea of liquid methane surrounding a core of rock.

It isn't expanding into anything. There is nothing beyond it. In this context 'nothing' does not mean empty space like a vacuum. Instead it means 'doesn't exist - not even empty space'.
Imagine an empty box - and there is nothing inside. Then imagine that the box doesn't exist at all...

it's not expanding. but if the weather get warmer. (global warming) continants may brake away. and they will be more water. when you think about it. out in the artic. there are ice bergs. and you have seen how high they are. well they are just as high as they are deep. and weather we think about it or not. there melting. and that water has to go some were. over a long period of time. a thousand years may . whoi nows. but while this is happening. the tides will get higher. and wash away rock and lime stone. wich is what our continants are formed. so we will brake up. or wash away. this is expansion.
