All metal heads know of the big 4...metallica,slayer,mega deth and anthrax....who was actually better and why?

Slayer for the harder,faster, more brutal sound with Araya's vocals..."Waaaaaaar Ensemble".. & Lombardo(it's like he has 8 arms & legs)...they phucking destroy live !!! They're pioneers of thrash metal who influence a lot of music today...much respect to them !!!
Pantera is in that list too bud....rip dime

It would have to be metallica vs megadeth. Dave Mustaine started with metallica and was then kicked out he subsequently formed Megadeth and they have also been around for a long time so there is some connection between the two. Both bands have also had some greats that will never die in memory namely Cliff Burton for metallica and Marty Friedman who has now left Megadeth. The vocals of James Hetfield are legendary and Dave Mustaine struggles a bit every now and then in my opinion both bands are great but Metallica would win this contest.

I'd say Metallica...
This band made me love Heavy Metal, also it has 4 brilliant albums ("Ride the lightning", "Master of puppets", "And justice for all" & "Black") which truely Can't be compared with anything!
Metallica is the 2nd Black Sabbath.
Metallica members are professional songwriter & musicians, & that's why I like them much more.
Then the 2nd of these great 4, is Megadeth I suppose, for the same reasons as Metallica...I love Megadeth though.
3rd I guess Slayer (Slayer's cool !), & last of them Anthrax.

Actually, I believe MEGADETH would be the best out of the group simply because of Marty Friedman on Lead guitar along with Dave Mustaines leads and a great drummer gets my vote. Im a big Anthrax fan and have been for 20 years. Anthrax has one of the best drummers of all time, but Megadeth would be my choice due to the stringed assault.

I am an avid metallica fan but have recently just started to really dig megadeth and to be perfectly honest I think Metallica are more talented and AWSOME in concert but dare I say it I think Megadeths songs are better, cos just imagine if metallica sang mastermind it would be ******* excellent oh and u forget to mention pantera come on .....
