My gynaecological physio does not recommend that unless you have no muscle tone at all.
Regular pelvic floor exercises are much better for you.

Your gynae physio is correct. There is no real evidence that these TENS machines offer any real benefit and they are not recommended by NICE as a standard treatment.

Your GP can prescribe a PelvicToner and this will definitely help you exercise as effectively as possible. Contrary to some of the comments above, I would not recommend 'just doing pelvic floor exercises' for so many reasons. Not least being that few women manage to do them properly (you certainly don't tighten your stomach muscles!!), rigorously enough or long enough. If it were that simple there would not be a multi-million£ industry selling incontinence pads.

If you want to understand more I heartily recommend The Kegel Legacy. It's only £1.99 from Amazon and you can even get free downloads online.

Its cheaper just to do pelvic floor exercises. Clench your mucles down below tight, hold and then relax. Do this 10 times an hour. As you improve try it when you pee. Try and stop mid pee, if you can you will know its working. You can do the exercises anywhere and they are free :)

The manual ones have long been used and with great effectiveness. I would be wary of the electric ones. Since you are looking to strengthen muscles in that area you might as well be using the muscles to do it. lp
