Without doubt my answer is Richard Attenborough's epic from 1977 "A Bridge Too Far".This starred Dirk Bogarde,Sean Connery,Laurence Olivier,Gene Hackman,Edward Fox,Ryan 'O' Neal,James Caan,Wolfgang Preiss and Robert Redford.There were also numerous others.
