True story about Wilt's 100 point game and Kobe's 81 point game:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/basketball/nba/01/27/kobe.wilt.tickets/

Marc Stern , then an 18-year-old sophomore at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa, bought two tickets to see the then-Philadelphia Warriors play the New York Knicks in nearby Hershey.

But when one of his professors scheduled a test for the next day, Stern gave the tickets away -- and thus failed to see Wilt Chamberlain score 100 points.

Today, Stern is a Lakers season ticket-holder, and had tickets to see a January Lakers game against the Raptors. But Stern opted to attend a birthday party instead -- and thus failed to see Kobe's 81-point outburst.

Oh, wait, you said 1962. Sorry. In that case it was that 100 point thing with Wilt.
