Hi no i wouldnt as i dont think it is right to do so. The only way i can think of having a child aborted would be for health reasons for the baby which i know there are a few so it doesnt suffer in later life, but even then why should we have the right to kill something so innocent at all. I think most people think a baby is just an unborn clump of cells but video footage inside the womb has shown a feotus with arms and legs and facial expression at just 8 weeks old. I say there was a teenage girl who got pregnant then i can understand why this would be difficult, but there are ways around of avioding this problem with more advice off parents and teacher in schools about contraceptions rather than avoiding it and then the who world come crashing down when the daughter gets pregnant. I personally dont think abortion is nessacary. I just read one of the answers that was about a girl who had an abortion because she was a drug addict and couldnt provide for the baby. But not saying i could be in her situation but i would of used the baby to come off drugs and even though i had no money to provide for the baby there is always help you can get. and if there was money for drugs then if the drugs weren not there then the money would be there to look after the baby. I know it would of been hard for her but in the long sun maybe of worked out better for her.
I just think its selfish(not in the ladys with the drug problems case as she may of not been able to quit drugs and harmed herself and the baby) when there are people out there who cant have any children. If people have sex even with contraceptive etc there is always a possibility of having a baby but unless you are willing not to be in a sexual relationship and get pregnant then you should suffer the consequences. Thinking you cant provide for it and using this excuse is wrong as mums have done for years, single mums and teenage mums and they get by and are mostly happy. But if abortion is there legally then it will be used as its the easy way out for most women.
I hae just look at the site above and i dont know how people canlive with themselves. The little feet and lets even nearly full size babys are being killed. Its disgusting how people can do this. Its the same as killing a new born baby that has just been brought in to the world then been murderd. The murderer would get life no doubt.

ok, i think that the question is phrased very gently and nicely, but the content of the website you linked to shows your true opinion. Ok, you're pro-life (the website is a giveaway), that's fine... but i think that this debate more than any other should put a premium on intellectual honesty - using a link to such a website in a non judgemental question is a little dishonest.
I am pro-choice and i am male. Perhaps this excludes me from an opinion on this matter, but if my partner wanted to abort if pregnant i would stand fully behind her. It is her right to make such a decision - I believe that you can't equate a woman-a life with a foetus - a potential life - this is my opinion of course.
Others disagree - and that's ok too. But the fact that there is such a dispute means that women cannot be banned from having abortions. Again in my opinion.
I think that too many people get angry over this issue while millions of liiving children find that their life is cheap. Millions die in developing countries while debts are extorted by multinational banks.
I Hope that the debate can be discussed in a reasoned way - then maybe we can come to some understanding of one another's position at the end.

Unless having the baby would kill me then I doubt very much if I would ever have an abortion. With sex comes responsibility and that is something that appears to b lacking in lots of womens lives these days. Having said that, I do think that abortion should be available to women - but for a far shorter period - up to 10 or 12 weeks. If it were not available then there would be a horrendus return to the days of back street abortions with even worse horrors occuring.

I could never abort one of my children. I have been pregnant 8 times and delivered 7 kids.(I had one miscarriage, and a daughter who died after 16 days, both of which were devastating)
Any woman that has an abortion should also get her tubes tied at the same time. That would cut down on the abortions...since many women use abortion as a form of birth control. Women who have abortions because they are told the baby is handicapped or deformed are some of the worst people in my book. To kill something because it isnt up to our standard of "normal" is completely barbaric. Why is it up to them to decide what is a "comfortable" life. I know many people with down syndrome who lead happy lives. I think it has more to do with the fact they just dont have the guts to take care of someone so special. IT would reflect on them, and a lot of people simply dont want that. I wonder how many people realize that a lot of those tests to determine birth defects can give false positives...and that many times there is nothing wrong with the baby they just so casually had torn to small pieces. I know several people who got positive results for down sydrome whose children were born perfectly "normal"
More women and girls should be taught about birth control...and that abortion is actually killing a child. Maybe the attitude wouldnt be so cavalier if we could actually teach them that its not just a blob of tissue...its an actual human being.

I am a mother of a 4 year old and feel that the only way I would have considered abortion is if I was told that my baby has a serious medical condition and wouldn't survive for long anyway. In that case an abortion is better than subjecting a baby through numerous surgeries and medication.

I am well aware that abortion is often seen as a form of birth control, as portrayed so often in the British soaps. But when away from the birth control issue at the end of the day a woman's body is her own and what she choses to do with it is her choice.
Every body is completely different and a situation one woman could cope with is not the same as another woman and so it all goes back to choice. It's not the easiest of decisions to make either way.

When I was pregnant with my third we were told the baby had a 1 in 32 chance of down syndrome and that we had to think about aborting or keeping if following test proved it was. I decided yes i would abort because i didn't think it would be fair on my other children, they wouldn't be able to relate to the baby as they did each other and also there would be less attention on them and basically I wouldn't be able to cope. She wasn't down syndrome so we didn't need to think about it anymore. But if she was and if we had kept her, we would have had a child with a rare cancer (which was diagnosed after baby was born)and one with downs syndrome, I think that is too much for any parent to have to cope with. Some of us are not wonder women.
I wouldn't consider for anything other then a health reason but I believe in a parents right to choose!

no I have to wonderful babies and my first my mom wanted me to abort b/c she thought I was to young and I couldn't raise a child at 19 also the baby is mixed . But in the end I have been raising my baby girl and my mom regrets what she has said b/c she would have never meet her beautiful blue eyes mixed grand baby. I don't think women should have a choice I think that they should have the baby and give up to a loving family that can't have there own children before aborting.

Hi,
I am pregnant and waiting the results of screening and awaiting an anomaly scan. My opinion at the moment is that I would terminate if there was a serious problem with this child, by that I mean a problem where our child had to lead a compromised life. I would do that because I feel the childs life would be compromised and therefore unfair, also it would be unfair on my other children.
However, it would of course depend on the severity of the problem.

No, I just couldn't do it. I'll respect anyone else's decision to have an abortion, but I personally couldn't do it. To me, an unborn child is a life. I'd feel too guilty
