Major Richard Winters-U.S. Army-101st Airborne
If you want a glimpse into a true hero, watch the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. You will see a regular guy (Dick Winters) who finds himself in the position of having to lead men into battle whom he cares very deeply for without sacrificing battle effectiveness.
Being that it is a true story, there are interviews with the real Dick Winters and the men who know him. They are all elderly by now and some who were interviewed are no longer with us. The faith they had in this man is enough to bring tears.

I don't want to give you names. But my heros are everyday people that rise to the occasion and help peopl. sometimes you know the person that you are helping and sometimes you don't. They never ask for repayment. They just help. Any one can be a hero. A hero does not have to do heroic things. they can be the ear that listened when you were down and did not judge you. They can be the person that remembered the can opener on the camp out....... My heros are every day people.

My father raised me after my mother died when I was a baby. He kept me safe, fed, clothed, sheltered, loved, educated, guided, and aware of my duty to overcome whatever attempted to bring me down. He will always be my hero.
My uncle who, along with my father, guided, loved, and helped me over the rough spots.
My aunt, without whom I would not have had a positive female role model.
My son-in-law who did two tours of Iraq and now works hard to support my daughter and their family and raise their children with Christian integrity. He and my daughter also have custody of his special needs adult brother.
.My daughter who works tirelessly in her home to be a good wife, a good mother to their five (almost six) children , her special needs brother-in-law, and the foster children they have. She is never too busy to do those things which, because of my disability, I cannot do for myself.
There are real-life heroes all around us if we will just take the time to recognize them and appreciate them.

After God and my husband, Steve Irwin made me realize that we need to conserve our resources on this planet if we want to live well. I mean the oxygen we breathe is made from trees. If we tear them all down, we're doomed. Of course, his shows were always on because the kids loved him. He changed their way of thinking about animals. It's the little things that people do that change people's lives the greatest.

My Dad. He made me who I am today by taking the time to teach, listen and guide me. He was the best man I ever had the privilege to know.
