There are a few different ways. Which method you choose depends on what hardware the 2 computers have, what method is more convenient for you, and how much money you want to spend.
Here are some methods:
-You can copy (a.k.a burn) files to a CD or DVD and read the CD/DVD on the other computer.
-You can buy a USB Jump Drive (a.k.a. memory stick) to transfer files. A jump drive is a portable storage device. You plug it into the USB port of one computer and copy files on it, then you plug it into the USB port of another computer to access the files. Some mp3 players can act like a jump drive. There are also USB hard drives that you can use, but I think that they might require a driver which you must install on both computers.
-You can buy a special USB bridge cable or box to connect between two computers to form a simple network. However, in the very least, you'll have to install a driver for it in both computers.
-If both computers have wireless or wired Ethernet network cards, then you can connect the two computers in an 'ad-hoc' network configuration.
-If both computers are hooked up to the Internet, you can transfer files that way.

Greetings!
I will assume you are running windows. You need a usb or serial null cable. Hook the two computers and run on the computer receiving the files the import wizard which will walk you through transferring the files or whole drive for that matter onto the new computer
Good Luck

You can transfer files from one pc to another many different ways.
Copy the files to cd and transfer them that way
buy a external hard drive keep all your important files on that and you can transfer that to any other pc.
Use a second hard drive fitted to a removal draw and transfer that.
network both pc's using ethernet card and cables

I share file all kinds of stuff between multiple LAN comps here, I just go into folder containing that file , and right click on it - go to sharing and security- then check the share box in the next window...and wallah. Now that file is available on a connected comp in its own Network places. Works good for me. Regardless of content or size.
Of course all this runs off a d-link 524 router.

i think of you are able to placed your laptop on a shared community or something, then you definitely can honestly flow all archives. that's possibly too complicated so which you will get a USB, despite the fact that if it has small length. superb answer is an exterior complicated rigidity, via fact there's a sort of area in those, and that they are very much inexpensive.

Network is the best and fastest option.
Pen drive is good too, or any removable drive.
Email is possible if they're not too large.
You can also try YouSendIt for large files.

The easiest is a thumb drive but you can also set up a simple p2p network using a crossover cable.
