I had a tubal ligation done yesterday at 9 am. I went home at 2 pm. By about 9 I still could not urinate though I had to extremely bad. I called the doctor and was sent over to the er to get a catheder put in for the weekend. It is very uncomfortable and so is my belly. I also had pains on vagina skin out and a bit inside too. The er doctor told me that sometime with all the tools there your bound to get bumped does that sound right? They didnt even tell me they would be using a cathader until i called and said there is a problem then they told me. When will I feel better? Why do I have cuts down there( like scratches)? How long did it take you to feel better what was your experience like. Should I be worried that i am only using a cathader to pee?

The previous answer is long and informative, but the response to your questions is buried deep in all that information. In short, you really need to see a doctor right away. Your symptoms do not sound like normal after-effects of a tubal ligation. I've known lots of women who have had this procedure, and none have had anything like what you describe. Most experience some discomfort for a few days, but the feeling of cuts and scratches doesn't sound right, nor does the need for catheterization. Please see a doctor right away.
