What would we as Earthlings do if it really happened?

If you're talking about a "take over" then I guess we either stop try to kill each other and pull together or be on next weeks menu. Seems to me if any alien is smart enough to travel to earth then they are smart enough to take us out.....if they wanted.
On the other hand anyone that smart would probably be too intelligent to want to war on us so maybe they would come in peace after all.

Humans would cower in fear... We believe we are the only ones. Anything with the technology to get here would look absolutely astounding to us coming out of the clear blue skies. If they wanted to kill us or colonize the planet or make us an intergalactic rest stop or whatever we'd be powerless to stop them.

well, we would first fill the other planets up.. (like if that's even possible, there's even no oxygen there), but maybe our future descendants would find a way as generations pass... and then, we would fill our galaxy with space stations, with bridges connecting one another... and after we fill them, we can be ready for invasions!!! ha!
aaahhhhh.. how good it is to dream on the future..

That then means that aliens their intensions would be to destroy or enslave us!
A very bad scenario!!
To fight and stand up to them I don't think is probable (we wouldn't have a chance!!).
The only think we can do is to hope if they ever come to be friendly!
