Make sure you disconnect the sprk plug first.Tap it lightly with a hammer using common sense.Spray with WD40.The treads usually are in the same direction as the blade turns

Disconnect the spark plug and turn the nut counterclockwise. You may have to put a rust remover on it.

whichever way the blade turns when on, then you remove by going the opposite way
