Maybe...but unlikely....Because China is unsuitable to be in under a democracy goverment...Can't you see China is developed very well under a communist country?China have a very huge population...and it does contributed greatly to his goverment...Huge country like soviet union and China were more suitable for his communist country...Can you imagine When China is a complete democracy?when 1.3 billion peoples have to vote for a election?Do you think that won't any corruption in power? When China commuist idea is his peak....the hope of turning to democracy is dimmer....But on the other hand.....China is become more open and given more freedom to China population, and also richer, nowaday....China citizens won't mind what kind politics is in power if they have a good life.

.....did you come from the past or something?
Open your eyes; under the strict defenition of "communism", China isn't even a communist country any more. It's already borrowed so many democratic ideas and other stuff. All the articles you read about China and how it's not allowing any freedom on Yahoo? Propaganda and brainwashing, although it's not the "immediate" kind of Hitler.

I am amazed with some answers here. See for yourself before judging a country. What is democracy anyway, look at Iraq, is it better ?

Though the democracy u say is one of the goals the Party always refer to, now it's still hard to say if it will be. It has a long way to go.

Although they are communist ruling, but they are given alots of space for freedom of speech, very open society; etc. You have to go there and witness, see for yourself. Much, much more freedom than here in Singapore. I'll strongly agreed with the participant "spag" statements.

Having been in China, what makes you think they already aren't? Wish you could see first hand, but they are more democratic than we are!! Sure, people say communist china, but I challenge you to go look for yourself.
