Ask around the the neighborhood where the house is located.
You can also do it online by going to the state website, look for property & deeds area, will likely give you all the county/city names & you click the city or county & start there. Some counties do not have this available-why I don't know, but there are free services online for this, public records.
If it tells you to download an auto desk map or a GSI you'll need to do this & "save as" in documents or desktop. Some tips I can give you to use online resources, you'll need the house #, subdivision name if that applies. I can search by clicking on "all properties" & putting in the address will tell me who owns it, date of sale, market value & usually cost of taxes. You'll get more & all results if you search all properties with a persons name.
You can go to the courthouse & into office of deeds & they can show you the book that it'll be in to find info & is a public records law to be able to see these things. The nicer you are to these office people, the more help you'll get. I prefer to do it online.

I work for an engineering firm and have to do this daily. The easiest way to do it is to use software that lists all of the tax maps and you can simply use your mouse to "click" on the piece of property. It will provide all of the information for you. You can also go your county or city website and find the tax assessor section. You can then search for properties by tax map and parcel number. If you don't know the tax map number, I would take a trip to your local tax assessor's office. They are USUALLY very knowledgeable and helpful. They have all of the information on property within your county and will help you find everything.

You will need to go to the county website, where the property is located. Find the assessor's office. Enter the street address, and you should be able to locate the owner. a site that is quick that charges $5 for this would be www.realquest.com
