If something is biological it relates to biology - the study of life and living things. Something that is non-biological does not relate to this it could be talking about another science or something different altogether.
People sometimes also talk about biological matter when refering to things that are living or were once living, non biological matter is stuff that was never living like plastics.
Hope this helps

While the word biological has to do with the science of living matter, if you are looking for a case where the words biological and nonbiological would be used, it would most likely appear in cases of paternity.
In terms of paternity, biological means connected by direct genetic relationship rather than by adoption or marriage as in the term "biological father". Nonbiological would refer to an adoptive parent or parents.

If you are refering to organisms I think reproduction is the distinctive.

If you are refering to organic or inorganic compounds the C (carbon) is the difference.
Search in Wikipedia. I think there is a relative topic.
