I also make handmade cards... I usually send mine to family, really good friends, aquaintances I send shop bought cards.
The amount of time you put into making a card can't be priced, but what I do is work out an average cost of the materials then add £1.00 sterling... usually selling them at £1.50 - £1.99 each
If the card is more complex then I will charge £2.50p ..so I take orders rather than make them then try to sell them... that way I can also personalize them for people.
To be honest I find Wedding Cards, Birthday Cards best for selling because you can have a few in stock already made, just leaving the inside greeting to be done as and when.

Perhaps you could take special orders from people who would like to send personalized original cards. I have no idea what price to charge. If you live in a large metropolitan area, you could probably ask a very good price. If you are in the country, not so good. I would much prefer to send out original cards and I am touched when I receive a hand made card created just for me. It shows more thoughtfulness from the sender!

Handmade cards for sure! People have an easier time throwing away store bought cards vs. handmade.
& I sell my cards for $3.50

I would rather have something unique but I wouldn't want to spend much more than I normally do for Christmas cards so look at the retail stores for prices.

I like handmade cards. It shows you are REALLY thinking of someone. My kids make their own cards for birthdays, Christmas and such. I encourage their creativity.

I actually prefer home made cards, but then I will also make them myself. If I see something I really like, and want it for one person, then I will spend up to $5 - but it depends on what it is, the quality, etc.

I would buy a few for certain special people like grandma and godparents, but not for the general people I send cards to.

I'd much rather get a hand made one...I MAY have gotten one once, but it's not very common. That would be much nicer and people will keep them. It takes much more thought and time.
