Is it stupid for human beings to be so self obsessed that we cant be humane. I read a statistic today that said 1 in 4 people are mentally ill. Why ? We have kids all over the country so desperate for help they will let some one they barely know help. Our governments dont help ...they just make it worse. We in the U. S. are spending time helping all these other countries and yet what goes on in our back yard? Those with the money don't help either. Again self centered.. There used to be a time when people came first.

I agree with your point that the US doesn't help their own ...or at least we do a poor job of trying.....but I don't quite understand what that has to do with being mentally ill. Mental illness is not caused by poverty.
