In response to my super-villian question who would you put into a team of superheroes? This time we will have 6 to 8 members, give their names and if you like, say why you would pick them.
My team is:
Iron Fist (Danny Rand)
Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Mr Fantastic (Reed Richards)
Thor (Donald Blake/Thor)
Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner)
Gambit (Remy LeBeau)
War Machine (James Rhodes)

Should I be counting Ninja Turtles as one entry or each turtle as an individual entry?

I would pick:

Gambit (Remy Lebeau) because of his mutant abilities to kinetically charge objects that then explode and his excellent melee combat skills.

Storm (Ororo Munroe) because her ability is to control the weather and such, an incredible power which would be immensely useful.

Jean Grey because of her telepathic abilities.

Rogue because of the powers she permanently absorbed from Ms Marvel (Carol Danvers) as well as her own powers of absorption.

Beast (Henry McCoy although I've also heard of him as 'Hank') mostly for his keen mind and smarts since we can't have all brawn in this team...

Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner) because of his teleportation abilities. Also it wouldn't hurt to have some spirituality on the team...

Wolverine (born James Howlett, refered to as Logan) because of his healing abilities, his fighting abilities and...well sometimes brute force is what we need...

Colossus (Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin) ...yes, more strength for the team's foundation...

Ok, so we have people like Storm, Jean and Beast for the Brains followed by Gambit, Rogue and Nightcrawler (I am not saying that they are not smart because they are), then the final layer of Wolverine and Colossus for the basic strength and force.

Yes, I am aware that all members are from the x-men, not that I do not like the DC heroes or other marvel heroes...because i do...this is just the team I would like...

I'll base my choices on building a team that could be utilized for most threats, on or off-planet: Captain America - the leader / heart of any team. Master strategist. Defender of everyone. Inspiration to all members. Superman - more than just muscle, he's determination personified. Enemies may come and go, but Big Blue will always find a way to win with a minimum of injuries to the population. Invisible Woman - When strength won't save you from an energy attack or the inevitible nuclear blast, Sue Storm has proven in the past she has what it takes to use her forcefield to protect her group. It also works as an excellent offensive weapon. Iron Man - Not just for his armor, but for all the other technological needs of the team. One of two types of brains, the other being Batman's. Storm - Weather control may be a part of Thor, but it IS Storm. I've always thought that would give her an advantage in natural ability. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - The ring. The will. The experience in space. The Human Torch - Providing "firepower" and humor to the group. His 'nova blast' being a nuclear option to be used only if necessary, he still is a valued asset in any conflict. Batman - The member in the background, making sure they haven't overlooked anything. The detective. More often than not, he may not even be in costume. Blink - teleporter. Capable fighter. Proven team player. Not just a useful power enabling the team to get from place to place instantly, but a hero who doesn't need others to keep an eye on her in a fight. This team, I believe, could handle almost any threat.

I don't remember if all the following characters have codenames, but I'm going to cite the series they hail from if I can. John Constantine (Hellblazer), Rorschach, (Watchmen) Big Violent Marv, (Sin City) Hitman,(from a Batman Spinoff) Ozymandias (Watchmen), AJ Juniour and Wilhemina Murray (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), and... what was his name? ... Kokorovich, (can't remember the series, a four armed Russian mutant and martial artist) Oh, and 'V', from 'V for Vendetta' to round it off...

This may not be the strongest team in terms of superpowers, but all these characters have a lot of personality. Probably they'd spend as much time fighting and negotiating amongst each other as they would going for the 'bad guys', but it'd be really interesting to see what they did. Maybe there would be too many big characters to hold the series together, but it could be fun. Alan Moore would write the strip, obviously, can't remember the names of any comic artists though...

Are these superheros you mention in the UK 'cos I have never heard of them, well, apart from Batman?
I would choose:
Batman
Batwoman
The Joker (Cos hes funny and we need to employ the superheros for a reason)
Superman
Wonderwoman
Catwoman
Dr Who
I have added women superheros as I think we live in the age of equallity now and its only fair! Oops I had better get the dinner on before my man takes away the housekeeping money.

LOL, I know he's a villain (Joker) but he did have some superpowers as far as I remember. I am nearly 40 but when I was a kid I used to watch Batman and Robin, Joker was a baddy but funny with it.
